INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT MASTER PLAN UPDATE

Through a joint venture partnership, STRADA worked to update our client’s International Airport Master Plan, which will serve as a road map for the development of the airport over the next 20 years. The completed plan will help satisfy anticipated changes in aviation demand, meet current safety standards, improve operating efficiencies, and incorporate new technology and other modernization. Our leadership role included:

STRADA’s leadership roles include:

  • Establishing a strategic vision to guide the Master Plan and subsequent planning
  • Developing a public involvement and stakeholder engagement program for educating, collaborating, and providing feedback on how input was considered in the Master Planning process
  • Assessing area development alternatives and surrounding land use patterns given the changes driven by recent property acquisitions and facility needs established in the Master Plan

  • Evaluating potential transportation benefits associated with the downtown area and other airport on-site circulation
  • Identifying reasonable aviation and non-aviation alternative development concepts for purposes of optimizing the airport’s performance, service capability, and efficiency and to enhance the Master Plan’s capability for adapting to changes in the future
  • Supporting the evaluation phase of prioritizing projects into planning horizons with anticipated cost estimates

  • Identifying the potential environmental impact of future projects and the means for mitigation and/or subsequent field investigation or survey
  • Identifying impacts associated with established National Environmental Policy Act categories, including sound-level modeling to project noise exposure over base-year, five-year, and 20-year periods.
