MASTER PLAN UPDATE TO BIRMINGHAM-SHUTTLESWORTH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
STRADA worked on updates to Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport from 2015 through 2016. The Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport is updating its Master Plan. When completed, the Master Plan will serve as a road map for the development of the airport over the next 20 years and will satisfy anticipated changes in aviation demand, meet current safety standards, improve operating efficiencies, and incorporate new technologies and other modernization. STRADA is serving as a joint venture partner with AECOM to update the master plan.
STRADA’s leadership roles include:
- Establishing a strategic vision to guide the Master Plan and subsequent planning
- Developing a public involvement and stakeholder engagement program for educating, collaborating, and providing feedback on how input was considered in the Master Planning process
- Assessing area development alternatives and surrounding land use patterns given the changes driven by recent property acquisitions and facility needs established in the Master Plan
