STRADA provides Owner’s Representative services for the 10-mile long Birmingham Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) development. This project requires the integration of complex owner interests by the City of Birmingham, the United States Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration, and the Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority.
The BRT project includes construction management of 11 bid packages, communication across a metropolitan area of 1,200,000 people with 25 affected local neighborhood groups, the purchase of advanced transportation technologies, and procurement of rolling transit stock. The total project budget is $40,000,000, and a critical timeline exists in order to have all construction finalized prior to Birmingham hosting the World Games 2021.
